Want to make sure your road trip through Georgia is super peachy? Just crank up the volume on this ultimate Georgia road trip playlist…
This Georgia-centric playlist a little blues-y, a little country, and a whole lot of awesome. Grab it right off Spotify below:
We’re also throwing up some YouTube videos of a few of our absolute favorite Georgia jams. Of course, we’re starting with the most iconic Georgia song sung by one of its most iconic singers. Surely you already know which song we’re talking about…
Georgia on my Mind – Ray Charles
Does it get any better than that? No. No, it doesn’t.
Georgia on my Mind – Willie Nelson
Ok, so he’s a Texan, but his collaborations with Ray Charles were some of the best things to ever happen to music. Willie’s version of Georgia on my Mind is second only to Ray’s.
Chattahoochee – Alan Jackson
Chattahoochee is everything awesome about 90’s country and really captures what makes Georgia great… waterskiing in jeans, drinking beer by the river, and all that stuff. Plus, the song says “coochie.” Of course, this isn’t the only Alan Jackson song to make the playlist. This Georgia boy has plenty of great road trip songs, and a whole bunch made our list.
Ramblin’ Man – Allman Brothers Band
A: It’s just an awesome road trip song. B: The band actually rose to fame after moving to Macon, GA where they all lived in a house dubbed “The Big House”. (Original band members Duane Allman and Berry Oakley are buried next to each other in Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, a place where the band would often meet to write songs.)
Love Shack – B-52s
The B-52s, hailing from Athens, GA, will forever be remembered for this wonderfully ridiculous song. It’s also a pretty stellar road trip song in its own right. So grab your car and hope it seats about 20 and head down to the Love Shack, baby.
Devil Went Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels Band
Duh. Of course this is on the list. Hell’s broke loose in Georgia…
Midnight Train to Georgia – Gladys Knight & the Pips
We’re pretty sure you could just listen to this song on repeat for your entire trip. So smooth. So good.
Eastbound and Down – Jerry Reed
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta… Seriously, is there a more perfect Georgia road trip song? That’s a big 10-4, Snowman.
