There’s a lot to see and do in the great state of Colorado from exploring little ski towns to gazing at epic mountain peaks, but when it comes to roadside attractions and funky shopping, nothing quite compares to Tracy’s Vintage Unusual Fun Stuff…
After spending time in the Virgin Islands, Tracy Dodd took the advice of his father (a fellow auction-goer & picker) and bought a piece of land on the outskirts of Montrose, Colorado. The spot quickly became filled with everything from vintage automobiles to bizarre trinkets of every kind.
Sitting along a frontage road to US 550, the Million Dollar Highway, Tracy’s Vintage Unusual Fun Stuff is the last quirky little stop before the scenery (and roadway) begins to dramatically change. While the tourists flock to the Russell Stover factory and outlet in nearby Montrose, CO, the real road tripper and adventurer prefers the quirkiness of Tracy’s Vintage Unusual Fun Stuff any day over a box of corporate chocolate.
For car, motorcycle, and even boat lovers, there’s plenty of old steel and fiberglass to hold your attention… From fully restored to, well, not, there’s a lot to explore.
For people looking for just the right piece for their funky decorating tastes, chances are you can find it here.
And then there’s these…
Tracy, a 10 consecutive year veteran of Burning Man, has taken these 2 “Mutant Vehicles” to the festival for a week of fun in the Black Rock Desert.
Finding Tracy’s Vintage Unusual Fun Stuff is easy as it stands out along an otherwise simple stretch of US 550, but here’s the official address for you GPS-addicts:
66422 Solar Rd.
Montrose, CO 81403
Also, Tracy only opens this place from June until October so he can continue to travel the world and collect more items and friends along the way.
