Stumble off Duval Street and into Grunt’s Bar and Garbo’s Grill, 2 Key West hidden gems

Just steps from the madness of Key West’s Duval Street you’ll find another world of laid-back vibes and tasty grub at Garbo’s Grill and Grunt’s Bar…

Ok, so you’ve been throwing back beers at Sloppy Joe’s and catching sunsets down at Mallory Square for the past couple days of your Key West vacation. There’s nothing wrong with that. But… wouldn’t you like to find a place off-the-beaten-path? Wouldn’t you like to feel a little more like a local?

Well, it’s time to hit up Garbo’s Grill and Grunt’s Bar.

Just a quaint Airstream trailer and a little house tucked off Caroline street, these two little spots feel a hundred miles away from the touristy trappings of Key West, yet they’re just a block or so away from Duval.

Start by walking out back to Garbo’s where you’ll find a small menu of perfectly crafted tacos, burritos, burgers, and dogs.

After placing your order, it’s off to Grunt’s for a beer while your food is prepared out back. Here you’ll find Key West artifacts hanging on the wall as locals and travelers bond over cold beers and tall tales.

By the time your food arrives, you’ll already be contemplating a move to the Keys.

Oh, and if you time your visit right, you might also be treated to some live music.
