Where else can you grab lunch, fire a gun, pawn your guitar, and catch a live concert? Yep. Badlands Pawn in Sioux Falls, SD really is the coolest.
Ok, to be honest, we never thought we’d write about a pawn shop other than Gold & Silver Pawn (aka Pawn Stars). Then we found Badlands Pawn in Sioux Falls, SD.
Holy crap. Badlands Pawn is awesome.
It ain’t your average pawn shop.
First of all, Badlands Pawn is huge- like massively huge.
If the view from the outside didn’t clue you in, Badlands Pawn is one massive place. How massive? So glad you asked. How about 70,000 square feet of massive.
Second, Badlands Pawn has a little bit of everything awesome you could possibly imagine.
Self-proclaimed home of “Guns, Gold, & Rock N’ Roll,” this pawn shop isn’t just a place to buy a cheap circular saw or television. Oh no. It is so much more.
They don’t just sell guns. They actually have a $3,000,000 indoor firing range.
They don’t just sell used televisions. They actually have an in-house, live radio station and even their own freakin’ TV network.
Want a tattoo while you wait? Yep. Done and done in their on-site tattoo parlor.
Hungry? There’s a deli.
Oh, and finally… The place is a gosh dang kick-ass concert venue bringing in some of the nation’s top bands to rock the house.
My last reason for deciding to give this place a nod on our site? They’re motorheads.
I’m a sucker for any twisted, gnarly custom rat-rodded-Mad-Max-looking piece of motorized steel. This place has plenty. (Oh, and a sprint car. Gotta love that.)
As we try our very best to focus on the little guys- the small shops and little diners- we admit that sometimes something big and badass is… well… extremely badass.
Today, we tip our hat to you, Badlands Pawn.
So if you’re down around Sioux Falls, SD, head on down to Badlands Pawn where you can pawn your watch, get inked, grab a sandwich, catch a concert, fire a gun, and maybe even make it on the radio, all at one single location.

Our South Dakota adventures were part of a crazy, awesome road trip called MINI Takes the States. For 2 weeks, MINI owners rallied across the country hitting up cities like Green Bay, race tracks, and everything in between. We had the pleasure of driving both a MINI S convertible and a MINI John Cooper Works, both with 6-speed manual transmissions. It’s pretty much the most fun you’ll ever have.
The best part? The whole trip raised over 1,000,000 meals in partnership with Feeding America. Learn more here.
